By Nate Rohr Oct 6, 2024 | 6:32 PM

No. 2 Nebraska volleyball made quick work of Iowa Sunday at the Devaney Center. The Huskers dispatched the Hawkeyes 25-17, 25-11, 25-13 in a match that took just one hour, 20 minutes. Nebraska (14-1, 4-0 Big Ten) barely broke a sweat in winning its 11th straight match. During the streak, the Huskers have won 33 of 36 sets, with nine sweeps and only one match going to five sets.

Nebraska easily outhit Iowa (8-8, 2-2 Big Ten), .404-.155. The Huskers were even better from the service line, with seven aces and one error. Lexi Rodriguez led the way with three aces and added a team-high 12 digs. NU was led offensively by Merritt Beason, with 10 kills while hitting .400. Leyla Blackwell had a season-high nine kills while hitting a blistering .692, and Rebekah Allick added nine kills with three blocks while hitting .583. Bergen Reilly notched 35 set assists in leading the Huskers’ attack.

Not surprisingly, Nebraska’s serve-receive was on point, not allowing the Hawkeyes an ace. The Huskers have allowed just seven aces in the last eight matches.

Next up for Nebraska is No. 11 Purdue on Friday at 7:30 at the Devaney Center. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. on KLIN and sister station, B-107.3.
