A burglary suspect didn’t get far after trying to steal items from the GameStop near 29th and Pine Lake Road around 4:30 Sunday morning. Captain Todd Kocian says officers responded to an alarm in Southpointe Pavilions and found a window to the business shattered.
“They also observed an individual run from the back of the store to the front, then exit the building through the broken window,” Kocian says. After a brief foot pursuit, 20-year-old Zaiden Hofmann of Lincoln was taken into custody near 29th & Zermatt Drive.
Damage to the window estimated at $3,500 and nearly $3,000 worth of various video gaming equipment was recovered. Hofmann was arrested for burglary, possession of burglars tools and obstructing a peace officer.
