Lincoln Police are seeing more calls regarding stolen and vandalized political signs as Election Day approaches. “We’ve had at least five recent incidents reported to our Southeast Team,” says Public Information Officer Erika Thomas.
Two of the incidents have happened near 16th and Old Cheney. The others were reported near Rockhurst and Shenandoah Drive and S. Cotner and Piedmont Rd. Thomas says anyone caught vandalizing or or stealing signs could face a $250-$500 fine.
Thomas encourages anyone who wants to display a sign to review the city ordinance. You can see it by clicking here. “We ask anyone to report incidents of larceny or vandalism of signs to Lincoln Police by calling 402-441-6000.”
