Lincoln Police were called to a home near 66th and Adams around 10:00 Tuesday morning where an argument over an access to a home by renters turned violent. Lt. Jason Goodwin tells KLIN officers determined 29-year-old Melodye Smith of Lincoln tried to break into the home by punching a window several times.
“When it shattered, flying glass caused a severe lacerations to the wrist of a 23-year-old woman inside,” Goodwin says. “A tourniquet was used to stop the bleeding and she was taken to a hospital for treatment.” Her injuries are non-life threatening.
A 24-year-old Lincoln man was taken to the hospital for cuts to his feet. Goodwin says Smith suffered cuts to her arm from the glass and was taken to the hospital. Goodwin says she will be cited for third degree once she is released from the hospital.
