A motorcyclist was critically injured in a crash Friday night on Highway 77 near Davey.  Lancaster County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says witnesses told investigators the man left Davey on 3rd Street, turned and went east on Davey Road and was driving in a reckless manner.

Sheriff’s deputies and the Ceresco Volunteer Fire Department responded to the crash scene.  “He had some severe injuries to his head and body and was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries,” Houchin says.

The man’s condition has since improved.   Houchin says the rider was not wearing a helmet and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.  The investigation is continuing.
