Secretary of State Bob Evnen on Friday certified the final list of candidates for office and ballot measures for the November general election ballot. “County election offices and our Elections Division have put in exemplary work to ensure that all candidates were appropriately filed and that all petitions were verified and certified in time,” Evnen says.
The 2024 general election ballot will include six initiative and referendum ballot measures, Protect Women and Children, Protect the Right to Abortion, Private Education Scholarship Partial Referendum, Paid Sick Leave and two Nebraska Medical Cannabis initiatives.
As required by state law, the Secretary of State will host hearings on the ballot measures in each of the three congressional districts. The hearings will be scheduled in October. The Elections Division will create an informational pamphlet to be distributed at the hearings and made available at county election offices.
