It’s been six months since the Capital Humane Society opened the doors to the Stransky Veterinary Center at 55th and ‘O’ Street. Executive Director Matt Madcharo tells KLIN News he is pleased with the response they have received from the community.
“It has exceeded expectations,” Madcharo says. “As of last week we have served over 2,600 pets since we opened in March.” Madcharo says about 800 pets have been spayed or neutered and the rest have received a wide range of preventative care services.
“Like vaccinations and heartworm testing or microchipping. We also do pet dental care too.” He say the center will provide affordable and accessible veterinary care for all pet owners in the community regardless of income.
