A 35-year-old Lincoln man is accused of driving drunk and leaving behind a trail of destruction following a crash late Monday night.  LPD officers responded to S. Folsom between ‘C’ and ‘D’ Streets around 11:45 p.m.

“The preliminary investigation determined a red 2024 Chevy Traverse was speeding north on Folsom when the driver lost control, hit a utility pole, crossed the street, drove on the sidewalk, then through two fences before hitting a parked car in a driveway and another fence,” Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says.

“The glass door of a nearby residence was shattered and a large metal mailbox was lying in the front yard near the door.”  Thomas says a breath test on Nolan Tobey showed his blood alcohol content was .292, more than three times the legal limit.

Tobey was cited and released for 1st offense DUI, driving left of center line, willful reckless driving and driving within the sidewalk space.
