A 34-year-old Lincoln man was arrested for his second DUI after a rollover crash near 54th and Bennet Road Thursday evening.  Lancaster County Sheriff’s Deputy Chief Ben Houchin says Jeremy Dinges was driving a flatbed truck hauling barrels of diesel fuel around 6:00 when he went off the road and into a ditch.

“When deputies arrived the vehicle was on it’s side and fuel was leaking,” Houchin says. Hickman Rural Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.   He says deputies smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from Jeremy Dinges.

Houchin says he was taken to the hospital for treatment of a minor head injury.  He was then released and taken to the Lancaster County Jail and was booked for DUI.  A blood draw was done, but the results have not come back from the lab.

“But there was enough indicators that he was highly intoxicated,” Houchin says.   The crash area was closed while Haz Mat crews cleaned up the fuel spill.
