The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the vandals who damaged several windshields on South 68th Street between Hickman and Firth last week. Captain John Vik says they all happened late at night.
“There was a vehicle driving with it’s bright lights on and our victim tries to signal them to turn their them off and then their windshield is struck by an unknown object.” Vik says someone in the vehicle tossed an item that damaged their windshields.
Vik says damage to the four vehicles is more than $2,000. He says each driver was able to keep control of their vehicles and safely pulled over. Vik says it’s unclear is this was a prank that went bad, but it is a crime and they are asking for the public’s help in finding the culprits.
“We know that there’s some people in the community that have been talking about this. It’s certainly something that we want to stop get stopped as quickly as possible, Vik says. “We just don’t want anybody else to lose their windshield.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
