The Lincoln Police Department is investigating a string of car thefts and damaged vehicles over the weekend in southeast Lincoln.  Public Information Officer Erika Thomas says around 8:00 Saturday morning a Chevy Tahoe was reported stolen from a driveway near Stevens Ridge Road and Oaks Hollow.

Several personal items were also stolen. The vehicle was recovered near Arnold Heights Park and returned to the owner. About fifteen minutes later a 2015 Kia Soul SUV was found behind a credit union and had been stolen from the area of Union Hill Road and S. 56th Street early Saturday morning. The vehicle was returned to its owner.

LPD says around 8:45 a.m. Saturday the steering and ignition column of a 2016 Hyundai Accent was damaged and the vehicle could not be driven.   Around 9:30 a.m., a vehicle in a driveway was found with its front door open and a key fob in the center console had been taken from the unlocked vehicle.
