Friday is National Aviation Day and the Lincoln Airport will be celebrating by screening the aviation classic “Top Gun” on the side of the old Cold War hanger for the next installment of the LNK Outdoor Movie Series.
Pack your blankets, chairs, and favorite snacks to enjoy a relaxing night with friends and family. A diverse selection of local food trucks will also be present, as well as a car show.
“We’re really excited for people to come out. Hopefully the nice weather holds. Its free, we invite local food trucks, there will be a paper plane contest, and of course — movies,” said Airport Communications Director Rachel Barth.
Food Trucks will start setting up at 6 PM, the car show begins at 7 PM, and the movie will begin playing around dusk at ~9 PM.
Attendees are instructed to go to the west side of the airport, to the open green space. Parking is first come, first serve starting at 7:00 PM. Staff will assist with parking. An FM transmitter will allow movie-goers to tune in and hear the movie audio at 87.9.
While the event is free, attendees are asked to register ahead of time online to provide a head-count for organizers. RSVP at eventbrite.com.
