Lincoln woke up to damp city streets this morning, and those storms might be back tonight with a vengeance.

National Weather Service Meteorologist Van DeWald tells KLIN News the greatest threat area will be primarily along/east of Highway 77 from 5 PM to midnight, but likely between 7-8 PM.

“They do have the potential to produce all modes of severe weather, and we are concerned about potential tornadoes, large hail up to 2.5″, damaging winds up to 75 mph, and very heavy rainfall” said DeWald.

Those storm odds will linger into Thursday afternoon and early evening. But otherwise it’ll  be mostly sunny with a high near 89 degrees.

However, DeWald says we’ll be rewarded for our patience this weekend. With “typical summertime temperatures” forecast for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and highs in the mid 80s.
