A TSA Precheck enrollment event will be held at the Lincoln Airport August 19-23. Communications Director Rachel Barth says the in-person appointment takes about ten minutes and passengers need to provide a photo ID and get fingerprinted.
“Once you get TSA prechecked, this allows you to really skip those long lines,” Barth tells KLIN News. “You don’t have to take your shoes off and a lot of times you don’t have to take the laptop out of your bags.”
The enrollment fee is $78 and if approved, travelers get a five-year membership with the program. Following the in-person enrollment appointment, most applicants receive their Known Traveler Number in about three to five days. The KTN number must be added to flight reservations to enjoy TSA PreCheck benefits.
“It’s a great opportunity for our passengers to expedite their security process and enhance their overall travel experience,” Barth says. “We strive to make flying out of LNK as convenient and stress-free as possible and this event is just one of the many ways we aim to achieve that.”
