Lincoln Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in identifying possible suspects involved in an overnight burglary from an auto parts store, and a suspicious person caught lurking on camera in a south Lincoln neighborhood.
The first case occurred on July 27, 2024, at the Star City Salvage, near N. 33rd and Saint Paul Ave.
Video Forensics Technician for the Lincoln Police Department Becky Keller says two individuals were captured on security camera arriving around 1:45 AM, torching a chain apart that secured the main gate, and began looking around the property.
It appears a floor jack was used to lift up the overhead door allowing them into the shop area, where they would steal a significant amount of Milwaukee power tools, 12 catalytic converters, 40 sets of car keys, and a motorcycle — a total loss value of $4,300.
They thieves left around 5:15 AM, in an older model 2 door Chevy Silverado featuring a half ladder rack over the passenger side of the truck bed. It may have had a large dent on back driver side fender.

The next case occurred on August 2, 2024, in a neighborhood near 29th and Van Dorn Street.
Around 11:45 PM, personal home security camera captured a man lurking near the victim’s house. In the video, he can be seen near her trash cans, and when the floodlight turns on, he goes into the bushes near her front window. He’s waited in the bushes for a couple minutes before leaving.
The man appeared to have long hair and tattoos on his left arm, and could be connected to two other similar reports in the same area.
On March 26th, a suspicious person was called in watching a woman from her bathroom window near 34th and Pawnee. Officers drove the area but were unable to locate him. They were called back out to the same area on July 19th on a report of a man looking into the bathroom window while a woman was showering. On this occasion, a neighbor caught the individual and took a picture of him from afar.
Keller says they are actively investigating these cases, but hope someone can assist LPD in identifying these individuals.
