After a decade of service, Sandhills Global Event Center Managing Director Amy Dickerson is leaving her position. The Lancaster County Agricultural Society board announced Friday that Dickerson is transitioning to pursue other opportunities.
The Event Center is Lancaster County’s fairgrounds and home of the annual Lancaster County Super Fair. During Dickerson’s decade of leadership, the Event Center completed a successful re-launch directed by the Ag Society board and grew to serve over 300 local to national events, drawing up to 600,000 visitor days each year.
In a statement, the Ag Society board said Dickerson assisted them in securing millions of dollars in current and future infrastructure funding, while strengthening the Event Center’s expert team. The Event Center is one of Nebraska’s top out-of-state event visitor attractions, with as much as $72 million in incremental economic impact each year.
“The Ag Society board thanks Ms. Dickerson for her dedication and leadership over the last ten years during a period of great growth and improvements for the Event Center and wishes her well in her future endeavors,” says Kendra Ronnau, Ag Society Board President.
The board has initially appointed its Operations Director, Ron Bohaty, to act as day-to-day operational leader for the Sandhills Global Event Center.
