Lincoln Police are asking drivers to “SLOW DOWN” after one officer recently clocked a vehicle going over double the speed limit in a south Lincoln residential area.

LPD shared on social media Thursday, an officer running radar on South 56th Street between Van Dorn Street and Normal Boulevard registered a vehicle going 72 mph… 36 over the speed limit of 35 mph.

The driver was cited for speeding 36+ and driving without a valid driver’s license.

The ticket cost totaled at $424.

Numerous residences line S. 56th Street between those two arterial streets, many with direct driveway access.
