Lincoln Crime Stoppers needs your help investigating a real “zoodunit” for their 2nd annual fundraiser party at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo.

The adults-only event will put attendees on the investigative frontlines of a mock crime-scene with the Lincoln Police Department and the city’s Crime Stoppers program, on Friday, August 2nd from 5:30-9 p.m.

“Last year there was a bad guy who broke into the zoo and stole a peacock, it was a really fun story line,” said Video Forensics Technician for the Lincoln Police Department Becky Keller. “It was a huge hit, and folks who came out said they had a blast.”

The tickets sold out fast last year, so getting tickets as soon as possible is encouraged for the 2024 Zoodunit.

Tickets to the event ($75 for individuals or $70 if you purchase multiple) include alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks, plus food items throughout the zoo from Venue, The Parthenon, Valentino’s, and Colby Ridge. Proceeds will support the Lincoln/Lancaster County Crime Stopper program which runs solely on donations.

“This is a program we use at the Lincoln Police Department every day. From my unit, to Crime Analysis, to street officers, to our investigative team and many others in between. It’s a valuable tool for many of us and joining us for a night of fun also helps us to continue to clear up crime in our community,” said Keller.

The Lincoln/Lancaster County Crime Stoppers program has one of the highest clearance rates of any Crime Stoppers program in the nation, at almost 50% success rate.
