Lincoln residents have a chance to make wishes come true for Nebraska children battling critical illnesses. Emily Marston is Marketing Director for Make-A-Wish Nebraska and tells KLIN News that through the end of July Big Lots customers can make a donation or round up their purchase.
“Fundraisers like this are so important because it rises the money that we need to grant these wishes and give these children some hope and something to look forward to during some tough times.”
Marston says they have nearly 200 wishes waiting to be granted. More than 3,100 wishes have come true in the state over the past 40 years. She says on average they grant 110-115 wishes each year.
Every child they work with comes through a referral system. Click here for more information on Make-A-Wish Nebraska. The Lincoln Big Lots store is located in the East Park Plaza just north of 66th and ‘O’ Street.
