Woman Stabbed, Two Men Arrested In Railyard Fight

By Tom Stanton Jul 1, 2024 | 12:01 PM

Two men were arrested and a woman was stabbed following a large fight in the Railyard around 2:30 early Sunday morning. LPD Captain Todd Kocian says officers were initially told someone was struck by a car during the fight.

“Arriving officers attempted to contact 28-year-old Danny Barfield Jr in his vehicle at Canopy & R Street,” Kocian says.  “Barfield Jr did not stop for the first officer, failed to stop for a second officer and then got stuck in traffic at Canopy & Q where he was taken into custody.”

He was booked in jail for fleeing to avoid arrest and cited and released for DUI and refusing to submit to a chemical test.  Kocian says  33-year-old Johnny Lott was taken to jail for failing to disperse.

“Later that same morning officers contacted a 25-year-old female at the hospital who reported she had been stabbed during the disturbance,” Kocian says.  She suffered three puncture wounds to her body, but tthose injuries are not life-threatening.

The investigation is continuing threatening and Kocian says anyone who saw anything or captured video of the fight is encouraged to contact the Lincoln Police Department at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600 if you want to remain anonymous.
