The National SpeedSkating Circuit (NSC) has announced that NSC 36 will be hosted at Speedway Sports Complex in Lincoln, Nebraska on July 7th, marking the fifth time the NSC has brought their inline speed skating competitions to Lincoln.
This year’s roster features over 30 of the world’s top male and female speed skaters, including record-holders Gabe Lyons and Jessica Brooks, who hold the fastest indoor speed skating 100-meter times for men and women, respectively.
The competition is divided into two categories: sprinters and endurance skaters. Sprinters will compete in the 300-meter and 500-meter races, while endurance skaters will race in the 1000-meter and 1600-meter races for men, and 1000-meter and 1300-meter races for women.
The top three overall sprinters and endurance skaters will advance to the Grand Champion Main Event, an 800-meter middle-distance race. The winners of this race will be awarded the coveted “Black Suit” and Crowned the Grand Champion.
“We’re incredibly excited to return to Lincoln for NSC 36. The support from the local community has always been fantastic, and Speedway Sports Complex is the perfect venue for showcasing the incredible talent of our athletes,” said Miguel Jose, NSC President in a statement.
The event is family-oriented, with doors opening at 5:30 PM on July 7th and the Speedway Sports Complex (345 Speedway Circle). Catering will be provided, including adult beverages for those of age. Tickets are available now at pronsc.com.
“I can’t wait to compete in Lincoln again. The energy here is unmatched, and it’s the perfect place to prove who the best is,” said Lyons, sharing his excitement along side Brooks, who said “Lincoln has always been a special place for me to race. The fans are amazing, and the competition is fierce. I’m looking forward to showing everyone what I can do and aiming for that top spot.”
