Lincoln Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects in two separate cases: one involving a central Lincoln arsonist, and the other involving the overnight theft of two hammocks in northeast Lincoln.
The first case occurred on May 4, 2024, near a residence in the area of 16th and “B” Street around 5:00 p.m.
Video Forensics Technician for the Lincoln Police Department Becky Keller says two suspects were seen on camera in the area, prior to Lincoln Fire & Rescue responding to the residence to put out a fire.
A female and male are seen talking before the male kneels down near the residence which later can be seen going up in smoke.
The residence sustained over $10,000 in damage, and Keller says the motive is still unclear.
Photo and video of the suspect can be viewed below.
The next case occurred overnight on June 17, 2024, in a developing residential area near N. 36th and “R” Street.
When the sun came up, Keller says two hammocks were reported missing from a nearby park. Video captured a suspect disconnecting the two heavy duty playground hammocks, valued at about $1,000 each.
Video of the incident and photos of the missing hammocks can be viewed below.
