Man Serving Manslaughter Sentence Dies At Lincoln Corrections Facility

By Tom Stanton Jun 21, 2024 | 2:53 PM

Nebraska Department of Corrections Officials say an inmate died Thursday at the Reception and Treatment Center in Lincoln.  73-year-old Steven Tucker was serving 35 to 45 years for manslaughter out of Lancaster County.

Tucker’s sentence began on August 21, 2001.  While the cause of death has not yet been determined, NDCS officials say Tucker was being treated for a medical condition.

As is the case whenever an inmate dies in custody, a grand jury will conduct an investigation.
