Lincoln residents are invited to an open house for the Downtown Corridors Streetscape Project.  It will be held June 27th from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Union Bank Place lobby near 13th and “O” Street.

Members of the project team will be on hand to share information about the project and hear from the public.  Design plans presented at the open house will include:

  • Ninth and 10th streets between “K” and “S” streets
  • 11th Street between “N” and “Q” streets
  • 14th Street between “O” and “P” streets
  • “O” Street between Ninth Street and Centennial Mall

Business and property owners within these areas are also invited to complete a survey online at downtowncorridorslincoln.com to share important information with the project team about their business or property to consider during the construction phase.

The goal of the project is to improve the attractiveness, safety, connectivity and overall vibrancy of these connections to and through downtown. Parking in city garages will be validated at the open house.

“How do we make our downtown streets more vibrant? How do we make downtown more apart of the community in a way that feels really significant? We’re looking at the open house for feedback on those plans,” City Planner Collin Christopher told KLIN News. “We’ll have plans and renderings available. We’ll use all the feedback we get at the open house to finalize our plans as we move forward with hopefully a construction project in the next 12-months or so.”

The renovation plan is anticipated to be finalized this summer.
