An Arizona man ended up in jail after Seward County deputies found nine pounds of “White China” heroin in his vehicle Wednesday afternoon. The sheriff’s department says a deputy stopped the Toyota Corolla for a traffic violation on I-80 near the Pleasant Dale exit around 1:00 p.m.
The sheriff’s office says the deputy became increasingly suspicious of criminal activity. The driver refused to allow the deputy to search his vehicle. A K9 was brought in and the drugs were found. “China White” is fentanyl that looks like heroin. The street value is $515-thousand.
33-year-old Fernando Isai Puerta Perez of Nogales, AZ., was arrested and booked for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
