No one was hurt after fire broke out inside a house near 32d and Starr around 1:20 Friday afternoon. “There was smoke coming from the building when we arrived, no visible flames,” says Battalion Chief Aaron Pospisil.
“There were people exiting as the call was coming in. The house was vacant, so we’re not sure why it was occupied, assuming people in the area finding shelter,” Pospisil says. He says crews made their way to the basement where they found a small, mostly extinguished fire hat had created a lot of smoke.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
