A 37-year-old man was arrested after a bakery truck was stolen from Russ’s Market at 17th and Washington just before 10:00 Tuesday morning. LPD Captain Todd Kocian says a delivery driver for Flowers Baking Company parked a box truck near the loading dock and was delivering baked goods.
“The truck was unlocked and keys left inside,” Kocian says. “The suspect was seen on surveillance video entering the truck and driving away.” The truck was equipped with GPS tracking equipment and officers found the truck parked near 20th & ‘J’ Street.
Kocian says Giovani Corbino was found sleeping in the vehicle. “The truck and its baked goods, valued at $33,500, were recovered and Corbino was arrested for Theft by Unlawful Taking.” He was also cited & released for driving during revocation, DUI and possession of marijuana.
