Summer heat will make it’s arrival later this week and Captain Kelsey Moreno with the Salvation Army in Lincoln says this is the final week of their fan drive with Westlake Ace Hardware stores. She gave KLIN News a progress report.
‘Through the weekend we have raised right around $3,000 and through the 16th we’re hoping for a big push in donations,” Moreno says. Last year the drive raised about $6,5000, which was enough to purchase nearly 400 new box fans to help local citizens stay cool during the summer months.
Westlake Ace Customers can help the cause by rounding up their purchases or making a cash donation at the register. “The unbelievable generosity of our customers has helped us aid the most vulnerable among us by staying cool during the summer heat,” says Andy Schmitt, vice president and COO of Westlake Ace Hardware.
