There is an 80 to 90 percent chance of thunderstorms late this evening and overnight, with a 20 to 40 percent chance of severe storms according to the latest outlook from the National Weather Service.

A couple of pop-up type storms are possible early Thursday evening with a much higher chance of strong to severe storms developing overnight into early Friday morning.  The most likely time frame for severe storms is likely between midnight tonight and 3 am Friday morning.  

Damaging winds will be the primary threat but there could also be some large hail, isolated flooding, and tornadoes.
