The National Weather Service in Omaha has issued a Tornado Watch for Lancaster County and all of eastern Nebraska until 5:00 Tuesday afternoon. Meteorologist Brian Barjenbruch tells KLIN News a line of severe storms are expected to develop to the west of Lincoln and and move very quickly to the north and east.

“Any of these thunderstorms are capable of producing very large hail, pockets of pretty intense wind and rain and then also we’re going to see an increasing threat of tornadoes as they move to the northeast.”

Barjenbruch says storms that develop could become intense very quickly and he urges residents to be prepared to take shelter.
