Ribbon Cutting for Remolded Lincoln Airport Terminal Set for May 30

By Chase Porter May 21, 2024 | 4:20 PM

Wrapping up the latest phase of the Lincoln Municipal Airports modernization project, LNK will be holding a ribbon cutting and open house event Thursday, May 30, from 1:00 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Attendees will be able to explore the airport’s refitted terminal, as well as enjoy live music, food, and beverages.

LNK Spokesperson Rachel Barth says renovations include a new boardroom, renovated administrative offices, a new customer service area, newly completed flooring, and two new bag belts.

The boardroom new features new a community space, fit for about 80 to 90 people, available for businesses and groups in the community to use as a gathering space.

As LNK flyers venture upstairs, they will find a new viewing space that looks out onto the ramp, providing a space for friends and family to see aircrafts flying in and out.

“It’s a great place for people to hang out and watch the aircrafts as they wait for their loved one to arrive,” Barth told KLIN News.

Tours of the FAA tower will be held, which have already filled up.

The official ribbon cutting will be held at 2:30 p.m. with the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce. Reserve a spot for the event at eventbrite.com.
