Man Arrested After ‘Fishy Situation’ At Highlands DMV Office

By Tom Stanton May 17, 2024 | 4:50 PM

There was quite a scene inside the new Highlands DMV Office at 4700 Cattle Drive Friday afternoon. Lt. Brian Golden says it started when 33-year-old Jason Schrader walked around 2:00. “He made some comments and began throwing fish from a bag.  The fish got on the walls, counters and carpet”

He says damage is estimated at $9,000.  “Just due to the fact that it was fish and contacting everything, the cost to replace the items.” Golden says Schrader also tossed some carrots around the office. $5,000 was caused to the carpet, $3,000 to the ceiling tiles, and $1,000 to DMV photo backdrops.

Golden says before Schrader went on his vandalism spree he told employees “there’s something fishy going on.”  He was taken to the Lancaster County Jail and booked for felony criminal mischief and disturbing the peace.
