Lincoln’s hometown hero Bryan Olesen will be competing Monday night in the Season 25 finale of NBC’s “The Voice,” and the Lied Center for Performing Arts will be hosting a watch/vote party to cheer him on.

“We’re going to have our big screen set up. Everybody is invited to come on down and watch kind of in a fun group atmosphere,” said Lied Center spokesperson Lauren Silverman Durban.

The party will be hosted May 20th in the Lied Center Commons (entrance across from Temple Building at 12th & R). Doors open at 6 p.m. with the episode starting at 7 p.m. KLIN’s host of Drive Time Nebraska Doug Fitzgerald and host of the B107.3 morning show Brooke Summers will be in attendance and co-host the event.

Attendees won’t be just standing around until “The Voice” starts. AM/FM, lead by Olesen’s daughter Jaydn, will have a pre-show performance before the episode. Additionally, a special video message from Olesen will be shared.

“You won’t see it anywhere else,” said Durban. “Bryan was really excited to hear that people are getting together in Lincoln to support him and keep cheering him on.”

Already working with Olesen’s daughter, Durban said — regardless of Monday night’s outcome — the Lied Center would love to host a hometown concert for Olesen when he returns from NBC studios.

“We kind of have a history of that here, Hannah Houston (a Season 10 “The Voice” contestant from Lincoln, who came in 3rd place) did a big concert at the Lied Center after all of her success,” said Durban.”We would absolutely love to be the first place where you can see a full Bryan Olesen concert back home in Lincoln after ‘The Voice.’ No matter what happens, we are all on board.”

The event is completely free to attend, with no tickets or reservations. A very limited quantity of seats available for the watch party. Durban recommends getting to the venue when the door is open “because if it fills up, it fills up,” she said.
