An arrest has been made in the Tuesday night hit & run death of 22-year-old Alejandro Murillo near 37th and Cornhusker. “22-year-old Cindy Martinez of Lincoln turned herself into the Lancaster County Jail and was arrested for leaving the scene of an injury or death Accident, a Class 3 Felony,” says LPD Public Information Officer Erika Thomas.
She says the investigation determined Murillo was struck by a vehicle being driven by Martinez, the mother of his child, and her subsequent actions behind the wheel led to his death. Thomas says Murillo was in the car with Martinez and then got out. He was then struck by the car and Martinez kept going.
