One man has died after a rollover crash in southeast Lincoln sent a vehicle off the road, colliding with a nearby house and ejecting the driver.
According to the Lincoln Police Department, officers were called out to the area of South 56th and Cooper Avenue after a collision between a sedan and pickup just after 2 p.m.
Police determined both cars were driving north on S. 56th, when the pickup rear-ended the sedan, causing the driver to loose control and veer off the road, rolling and hitting a house.
The 30-year-old male driver was ejected from the truck. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition where he died from his injuries. No one else was injured in the crash.
Northbound & southbound traffic on S. 56th Street is now open, however SB traffic is restricted to one lane as the investigation continues. Lincoln Police are asking drivers to find an alternate route as S. 56th Street between Prescott Avenue and Stockwell Street.
