Lincoln Police and LFR crews rushed to Oak Lake near Sun Valley Boulevard and Charleston around 11:30 Tuesday morning. LPD Captain Ben Kopsa tells KLIN News a woman in her 30’s deliberately drove her car into the water.
He says says the car was in about two feet of water and the driver refused to come out. A tow truck was then called to the scene. “We had her vehicle removed with her in it from the lake,” Kopsa says. ”
“We then were able to safely take her into custody. She was experiencing a mental health emergency and she was uninjured. Kopsa says no citations will be issued and the woman will receive the appropriate medical attention.
