Wrapping up an eight-city tour, the Nebraska Attorney General’s office will host their last human trafficking awareness training session Tuesday, May 7, in UNL’s student Union.

The beginning of the session, led by the Nebraska Human Trafficking Task Force (NHTTF), is invite only for members of law enforcement, prosecutors, medical professionals, and begins at 9:00 a.m. in the Platte River Room. No registration is required, and there is no cost.

A public session begins at 1:00 p.m. in the same location, to provide members of the public information on how to spot human trafficking and an action plan if they do see someone being trafficked.

Since January, hundreds of law enforcement professionals, prosecutors, medical professionals, and advocates have attended in-person training session in Scottsbluff, North Platte, Beatrice, Columbus, Grand Island, Lexington, and O’Neill, to combat human trafficking.

“I am proud of the work the Nebraska Human Trafficking Task Force has done this year to educate Nebraskans on the signs of human trafficking and how to combat it,” said Attorney General Mike Hilgers. “Our team has not only been strengthening understanding but building relationships with the purpose of helping to bring traffickers to justice,”
