By Chase Porter May 6, 2024 | 2:03 PM

NBC’s “The Voice.”

After impressing judges with his rendition of “Africa” by Toto, Lincoln native singer Bryan Olesen, featured on NBC’s “The Voice,” was chosen out of 12 contestants to progress to the live playoffs-round set for tonight. Now, Olesen needs the community’s support to advance to the finals.

Olesen will perform live tonight at 7 p.m. CT on NBC and streaming on Peacock TV. Of the 12 contestants, the five singers who receive the most votes will advance to the finals round.

Voting in tonight’s show will be open until 7 a.m. ET on Tuesday (May 7).

You can cast your vote for Olesen on voice.vote.nbc.com or via “The Voice” official app, available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Olesen, 50, has been involved in Lincoln’s local music scene for many years. He performs lead vocals, guitar, and bass for the Christian rock band VOTA (formerly known as Casting Pearls) and also played guitar for the popular Christian band Newsboys from 2003 to 2006. Olesen said his bandmate John Wooten, the drummer of VOTA, encouraged him to audition for “The Voice” when he initially felt skeptical.

Olesen has appeared on KLIN’s airwaves several times, detailing his stunning audition of “Love Runs Out” by OneRepublic, and detailing his battle round performance on Drive Time Nebraska with Doug Fitzgerald.
