A woman ended up in the hospital with a stab wound early Saturday morning. LPD Captain Todd Kocian says officers were sent to a local hospital around 1:30 a.m. on a stabbing report. “Officers contacted a 23-year-old who said she was in a vehicle with friends who had just arrived at an apartment complex near Portia & Knox Street,” Kocian says.
“Once the vehicle stopped, someone opened the car door and began assaulting her.” Kocian says at some point during the struggle, she sustained a puncture wound to the chest. The woman’s friends drove her to the hospital and her injuries are not life threatening.
An 18-year-old woman also sustained minor injuries to her face and leg during the incident. The investigation is ongoing.
