The search is on for a man who broke into Meadowlark Pharmacy in Hickman early Saturday morning. Lancaster County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Ben Houchin says the man broke in through the front door around 3:00 a.m.
“This individual attempted to crawl on the floor to avoid the motion cameras, but was unsuccessful,” Houchin says. “He then attempted to locate the narcotics shelf and also tried to remove the safe from the back room.”
Houchin says the man left the store empty handed, but did cause about $1,000 damage to the business. This is the second time in three years that someone has broken into the pharmacy. On October 6, 2021, Houchin says the front door was broken and the thief made off with $2,500 worth of drugs.
