Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews were called to the Garden Brook Apartments near 13th and Arapahoe around 6:30 Thursday morning. Public Information Officer MJ Lierman says the resident of the apartment called 911 for an electrical burning smell.
“Crews were able to quickly locate the issue using their thermal imaging cameras.” Lierman says the small fire was sparked by an electrical malfunction in the wall. The fire caused about $10,000 in damage and was confined to the one unit.
The resident of the apartment was displaced.
