Several Streets To Close Sunday For Lincoln Marathon

By Tom Stanton May 2, 2024 | 10:22 AM

The 47th annual Lincoln Marathon is set for this weekend.  Race Director Ryan Regnier says nearly six thousand runners are signed up for Sunday’s event. “We’ve got about 1,100 runners in the  the full marathon about 4,800 in the half-marathon this year.”

Both races will start around 7:00 a.m. at 14th and Vine and will end at Memorial Stadium at Stadium Drive and T Street.  There will be limited access to Holmes Lake Park between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The Lincoln Police Department will control intersections along the race route.  The public is advised to be prepared for traffic delays. Spectators are encouraged to attend the event and support the runners along the route and at the start and finish lines this year.

The one-mile Mayor’s Run will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday on the south side of the state Capitol and is open to grade school children. For a complete list of the street closures click here.
