Lincoln Police handed out 233 citations during its ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ drug impaired driving campaign on April 19 and 20. LPD assigned additional officers to conduct high-visibility
traffic enforcement using a zero-tolerance approach to drivers under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

LPD says officers issued 22 DUI citations, 18 for speeding and 40 for no valid registration.  In addition 16 people were ticketed for driving under suspension.  Other citations included 12 for no insurance, four for possession of drugs and three for speed racing

LPD received funding from the Nebraska Department of Transportation to support the campaign.
