Milford Man Arrested By State Troopers Following Standoff

By Tom Stanton Apr 25, 2024 | 11:34 AM

The Nebraska State Patrol SWAT Team arrested a Milford man following a standoff that began late Wednesday night.  Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas says around 11:15 p.m. NSP was called to the 700 block of 5th Street for an armed person who had barricaded himself inside his home.

The patrol says the situation began after the 22-year-old man reportedly pointed a firearm at officers while they conducted a welfare check.  NSP Crisis Negotiators responded and the SWAT Team was activated.

A warrant was issued for Ethan Foster and after repeated attempts to communicate with him, troopers used an interior drone to determine his location inside the home. They also determined that Foster was still in possession of a gun.

Around 2:30 a.m. Thursday SWAT troopers went inside the house and took Foster into custody. Thomas says while being placed under arrest, Foster was combative and repeatedly resisted by kicking and attempting to hit troopers. Foster was booked into the Seward County Jail.
