Lincoln Police were called to the Walmart near 84th and Fremont last Friday on a report of a man who was shoplifting several items. Captain Todd Kocian says an employee tried to confronted 37-year-old Derek Walton as he tried to steal about $80 worth of goods.
Kocian says Walton then walked out of the store with t-shirts, a wireless audio adapter and a hex key set. “Through follow-up efforts officers identified Walton and contacted him on a traffic stop near 35th & Cornhusker on April 22.”
Walton was taken into custody and arrested for robbery and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
