By Tom Stanton Apr 23, 2024 | 8:40 AM

Investigators continue to look for a the cause of Monday afternoon’s three-alarm Fire at an auto shop near 21st and Cornhusker.   LFR Battalion Chief Mark Majors said the call came in just after 2:30 p.m. to Lincoln Cars.   He says there was a report of some type of explosion and a car on fire inside of the garage.

When crews arrived they found smoke coming from the building and flames being fanned by strong winds. “Crews immediately began deploying numerous hand lines due to the wind and the extent of the fire,” Majors says.

He says they had to battle the fire  from the outside because it was a bit too dangerous and the fire had advanced enough that they weren’t able to get crews inside.  LFR says damage to the building is estimated at $500,000.  There was about $150,000 damage to the contents of the building.

There were no injuries reported.
