Polling Locations Change for 27 Lancaster County Voter Precincts

By Chase Porter Apr 23, 2024 | 12:54 PM

27 voter precincts in Lancaster County have changed their polling location ahead of the May 14th statewide primary and general elections.

Lancaster County Election Commissioner Todd Wiltgen announced Tuesday, indicating the changes will impact approximately 27,000 of the 201,000 voters across the county. Notices of these changes were mailed to all voters impacted yesterday, April 22, and affected voters should expect to receive their new polling place notices in their mailboxes by the end of the week.

Commissioner Wiltgen explained the change to KLIN News. During the COVID-19 pandemic, former election commissioner Dave Shively had to temporarily relocate certain district polling places to schools and other government buildings. As the pandemic is further in the rearview, Wiltgen says they’re able to return those polling places to their original “more convenient” locations.

“I’m hopeful that voters will find that these locations are more convenient than they were two years ago,” said Wiltgen. “Many precinct’s polling places had to be relocated outside of their precincts. So we’ve been able to get a lot of the polling places back into the precincts that the voters actually reside in. I think its a return to normal.”

The polling location changes are listed below:
