Husker baseball fans can now pop open an ice cold beer at Haymarket Park. The University of Nebraska Board of Regents voted 9-2 Friday morning to approve alcohol sales at Husker baseball and softball games.
Interim President Chris Kabourek says they have show they can sell alcohol responsibly. “Alcohol sales have now been available at men and women’s basketball games, we provided it at Volleyball Day at Memorial Stadium and we sold it at the Big 10 Wrestling Championships a couple of years ago.”
Kabourek says they have reached an agreement with NEBCO, which jointly owns Haymarket Park with the University for revenue sharing. The sales of alcohol begins immediately.
