Funeral service for fallen Ceresco Police Officer Ross Bartlett were held Friday morning inside St Mark’s United Methodist Church in Lincoln. Bartlett was also a firefighter in Ceresco and a full time investigator with the Department of Corrections.
Dozens of fire departments and law enforcement agencies from around the state and region were on hand to support Bartlett’s family. The 54 year old Bartlett was killed last Friday after his cruiser was struck by a car during a traffic stop on Highway 77 in Lancaster County.
Following the service there was a 21-gun salute, bell service and the playing of “Taps”. There was a long procession of emergency vehicles that escorted Bartlett’s body from the church to Roper and Sons Funeral home at 44th and “O”.
