Funeral services will be held Friday morning in Lincoln for a Ceresco Police Officer who was killed in the line of duty last Friday night.  Ross Bartlett was making a traffic stop on Highway 77 in Lancaster County when a vehicle slammed into the back of his vehicle.

Bartlett was also a full-time investigator with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services. The visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Roper and Sons South Chapel. The funeral service will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church at 85th and Pioneers Blvd.

Following the service, there will be additional tributes to Bartlett, including a 21-gun salute, a bell service and the playing of “Taps.”   After the service, there will be a procession to escort Bartlett’s body from the church to Roper and Sons Funeral Home at 43rd and ‘O’ St.

The procession will head north on 84th Street from the church to ‘O’ Street, then head west to the funeral home. Members of the public can line the route.
